The Research Center for Food and Cosmetic Safety was established in year 2013. It aims to integrate the professional workforce and oversee the application of relevant technologies. It connects fundamental and practical industrial research. Riding on the development trend of the industry, it emphasizes on both academic research and practical application in the industry, nurturing R&D talents with both theoretical and practical expertise. Relevant platforms will be established in conjunction with the Graduate Institute of Health-Industry Technology to provide functional assessment of health food, efficacy assessment of herbal medicines and natural extracts, food R&D technology, as well as nutrition assessment and R&D of products and technology related to the health industry. This center has set up a certified Food Safety Testing Laboratory (TAF and TFDA Accreditation) for food safety examination and component assessment and analysis. It is equipped with high-end precision equipment and instrument (such as Gas Chromatography Tandem-Mass Spectrometry, Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry, Liquid Chromatography Tandem-Mass Spectrometry, Liquid Chromatography Quadrupole Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometer) which provide basic food component analysis, food hygiene safety and food addictive analysis and toxic substances analysis; relevant certification, detection and analysis of pesticides and heavy metals in agricultural products serve as food safety guardian for consumers.
The center will continue to recruit and train talented people, enhance the research team of food safety, herbal medicine research and healthy hair technology, improve welfare of the society and create a high quality healthy lifestyle. We base ourselves in Asia while conducting active cooperation with world-leading research institutes, aiming to be a R&D pioneer in the twenty-first century.
