》Features

In accordance with Chang Gung University of Science and Technology’s educational philosophy, the Department of Nursing aims to train students to become excellent nursing personnel and to practice practical and authentic holistic care.

During their study, students are required to complete internships at various teaching hospitals or at nursing units in medical centers located in Keelung, Taipei, Taoyuan, Taichung, Changhua, Chiayi and Kaohsiung. During their practicums, students gain clinical experience, which in turn helps the medical centers provide quality care to patients. In addition, during their last academic year, all students are required to take comprehensive nursing practicum courses. They are also required to work with nursing staff in order to gain experience in real clinical settings, which prepares them to become competent candidates for health care facilities as soon as they graduate.

We have top quality facilities and teaching equipment in our Clinical Competence Center (CCC), including the Simulating Intensive Care Unit, Obstetric and Pediatric Simulation Rooms, the Gerontology Simulation Room, and the Long-Term Care Demo Room. The CCC also has nursing professional classrooms, which include nursing skill demonstration classrooms, medical surgical nursing labs, obstetric labs, fundamental nursing labs and demonstration classrooms with multimedia tools. We also provide students with five basic medical educational labs to improve their fundamental medical knowledge. High-fidelity simulators such as Meti-Man, CPR Annie and heart sound multimedia devices are also available for students to practice their professional nursing skills. Upon completion of their academic curriculum, our students are ready to fulfill the requirements to become safe and effective nurses at various health care facilities.

》Vision

During the school term, we encourage students to obtain as many additional nursing professional licenses as possible. Relevant classes, such as the MOS, are offered to students who hope to obtain licenses that will enhance their overall competitiveness in the job market.

In line with our global vision, we have established international relationships with well-known international nursing institutes. To date, our sister institutes include, but are not limited to, the University of Hawaii and Case Western Reserve University in United States of America. We also have a dual bachelor’s degree program with the Queensland University of Technology.

About 90% of our graduates work in nursing fields and receive excellent feedback from their supervisors at various medical centers and teaching hospitals. Other graduates have successfully obtained advanced academic degrees in Taiwan as well as in other countries.

Our department not only provides outstanding learning opportunities to guide students to apply theories to clinical practice, it also seeks to help students adapt to an ever-changing world and to always be committed to helping people and those in need.
