In accordance with the Institute's educational philosophy, the Department of Nursing aims to train students to become excellent nursing personnel and to be practical and realistic in the practice of holistic care.

During their study, students are required to complete internships at various teaching hospitals or at nursing units in the medical centers located in Keelung, Taipei, Taoyuan, Taichung, Zhanghua, Chiayi, and Kaohsiung. During the practicum, the students gain clinical experience, which in turn helps the medical centers to provide quality care to the patients. In addition, during their last academic year, all students are required to take comprehensive nursing practicum courses. They are also required to work with nursing staff for a mandatory amount of clinical hours so that they have the experience of working in real environments, which prepares them to become competent candidates for health care facilities as soon as they graduate.

We have top quality facilities and teaching equipment in our Clinical Competence Center (CCC),including the construction of the Simulating Intensive Care Unit, Obstetric and Pediatric Simulation Rooms, Gerontology Simulation Room, Long-Term Care Demo Room and the nursing professional classrooms, which include the nursing skill demonstration classrooms, medical surgical nursing labs, obstetric labs, fundamental nursing labs and demonstration classrooms with multimedia audio tutorials. We also provide students with five basic medical educational labs to improve their fundamental medical knowledge. High Fidelity Simulators such as Meti Man, CPR Annie and heart sound multimedia devices are also available for the students to practice their professional nursing skills. Upon completion of their academic curriculum, our students will be ready to fulfill the requirements of becoming safe and effective nursing practitioners for various health care facilities.

During the school term, we encourage students to obtain as many additional nursing professional licenses (RN in the USA, for example) as possible. Another approach to enhancing graduates' competitiveness is to encourage them to get an IT (MOS B class) license while offering license relevant classes for them.

With our global vision, we have established international relationships with well-known nursing institutes worldwide. To date, our sister institutes include Hawaii University and Case Western Reserve University in United States of America, as well as Queensland University of Technology and the University of Wollongong in Australia.

About 90% of our graduates work in nursing fields and receive excellent feedback from their supervisors at various medical centers and teaching hospitals. Other graduates have successfully advanced in their academic degrees. They may continue to study at MSN programs, in Taiwan as well as in other countries.

Our department not only provides outstanding learning opportunities to guide students to apply theories to clinical practice, it also seeks to help students adapt to a changeable era and to always be committed to helping people and those in need.
